‘Wonder Woman’ Makes Box Office History

Wonder Woman is making history. The box office totals are being reported and Warner Bros.’ Wonder Woman has made an estimated $100.5 million debut at the North American box office. Patty Jenkins now holds the record for having the largest weekend opening for a female director, the previous record was held by Fifty Shades of Grey.

The worldwide box office total for Wonder Woman reached $223 million, bringing in $122.5 million in 55 international markets.

Audience demographics are also being reported, the makeup of audiences this weekend consisted of 52% females and 48% males. This is a significant increase amongst female moviegoers for the comic book genre.

Wonder Woman is the first movie within the DCEU to earn a 90% score on Rotten Tomatoes and to receive widespread praise from critics and fans.
