‘Wonder Woman’ Passes ‘Batman v Superman’ & Continues To Make Box Office History

Wonder Woman

It’s the busiest season for movies, and while new releases are coming out every weekend, Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman remains steadfast at the domestic and worldwide box office. This week marks yet another record for the film as it crosses the $350 million mark at the domestic box office. Wonder Woman has now become the highest earning film in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU).

Wonder Woman is still behind Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice at the worldwide box office but the film is still in theaters and continues to impress. The movie remains in the top five at the domestic box office and continues to earn overseas.

The current total for Wonder Woman is $713 million.

Melissa Silverstein, founder, and publisher of Women and Hollywood gave her thoughts on this summer box-office season has changed.

“I think this summer has made it clear that there are less true movie stars than people thought. But what it underscores for me is the consistent, persistent underestimation of women.”

Here is my review of Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman.
